讲座摘要：This study seeks to explore the fit strategic orientation to embrace exploration and exploitation and how this strategic orientation influence innovation ambidexterity. Based on Yin-Yang theory and attention based view (ABV) perspective, this article introduces middle-way strategic orientation grounded in Eastern mindset and investigates its direct and indirect effects on innovation ambidexterity through the mediation effects of strategic flexibility. We find that middle-way strategic orientation has a positive effect on innovation ambidexterity. Furthermore, resource flexibility and coordination flexibility mediate this positive effect. Data from 238 firms support our prediction. The results indicate that middle-way strategic orientation facilitate innovation ambidexterity by promoting resource flexibility and coordination flexibility. This research contributes to organizational ambidexterity literature by introducing middle-way strategic orientation as fit strategic orientation needed to embrace the coexisting of the incompatible exploration and exploitation and by investigating how middle-way strategic orientation promote ambidexterity through strategic flexibility.
